The whole family used to live in the old kitchen when it was cold in the winter. It can be a little hard to imagine when you see the room today.

We tidied up the room in the winter of 2009/10 and tore out the old kitchen furniture from the 1940s and also the painted and very patched linoleum carpet. We developed wooden floors and ceilings and also built a modern small bathroom.

Since the kitchen used to be the maid's area, the room was of course called the maid's room.

We have tried to keep the color scheme a bit kitchen-like with a green roof and gray lining and cornice (linseed oil paint). The yellow walls give a sun feeling!
